Privacy Policy

1. Who Is Responsible

Multitap, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Multitap", "we", "us"), is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Our address and full details are on our Legal Notice page. For anything about your data, write to privacy@multitap.gg.

This policy covers multitap.gg and its early access list. It also says, in Section 3, what our private beta processes.

2. What We Collect on multitap.gg

Early access list

  • Email and sign-up details: your email address, the campaign tag of the link you followed, the referring website (its host only, for example t.co) and your browser language.
  • Optional answers: if you answer the questions shown after you sign up, the devices you selected, the channels or links you shared as a creator or developer, and the game you named.
  • Use: we use this only to decide who receives early builds first and to email you about Multitap early access. We never sell it and never share it for advertising.

Audience measurement

The Site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views and a few anonymous actions (such as joining the early access list or turning on a clip's sound) without cookies and without following you across sites. We only see aggregated statistics.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard access logs (IP address, user agent, time and page requested) to deliver and secure the Site.

Messages you send us

If you write to us, for example to report content or send a copyright notice, we keep your message and your contact details to handle it.

3. Private Beta

Parts of Multitap are in private beta, open by invitation only. If you take part, we also process the data that beta needs: your account (including sign-in through Google or Twitch, if you choose it), access credentials you create, the pairing of your devices, the files and play state you use in sessions, and the related security logs. The Beta Terms you receive with your invitation describe each of them in detail, with how long we keep them.

4. Why We Use Your Data, and on What Legal Basis

  • Early access list: to choose who gets early builds and to email you about early access. Basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Audience measurement: to know which pages and clips work. Basis: our legitimate interest in improving the Site (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Server logs: to deliver and secure the Site. Basis: our legitimate interest in security (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Messages and reports: to answer you and handle notices. Basis: our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)) and our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Private beta data: to run the beta you joined. Basis: the contract between you and us (Art. 6(1)(b)).

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we make no decision about you by automated means alone.

5. Who Processes It

We use these providers, which process data on our behalf or, for sign-in, under their own policies:

  • Vercel: hosting of multitap.gg and audience measurement.
  • Supabase: the database that holds the early access list and beta accounts.
  • Fly.io: servers used by the private beta.
  • LiveKit: real-time audio and video in the private beta.
  • ip-api.com: approximate country lookup from a player's IP address in the private beta.
  • Google and Twitch: sign-in, only if you choose them in the beta.
  • Meta: our beta app for Meta Quest runs on Meta Horizon OS, whose data is covered by Meta's own policies.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose it if the law requires us to.

6. International Transfers

Our providers process data in the United States and in other countries. When data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for providers certified under it, and otherwise on the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

multitap.gg sets no advertising or tracking cookies, so it shows no cookie banner. It uses only:

  • Language (multitap_locale): when you pick a language, we remember it for a year. This cookie only stores your choice.
  • Audience measurement: Vercel Web Analytics works without cookies and without identifying you, as described in Section 2.

The beta app also uses sign-in cookies and your browser's storage, as described in the Beta Terms.

8. How Long We Keep It

  • Early access list: until the early access program ends, or until you leave the list, whichever comes first.
  • Server logs: for the short period set by our hosting provider, and never more than 12 months.
  • Messages and reports: as long as needed to handle them, and then as long as the law requires or allows us to keep them to establish or defend legal claims.

9. Your Rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, and to leave the early access list. If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting what was done before.

To exercise these rights, write to privacy@multitap.gg. We answer within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in particular in the country where you live or work. In France, this is the CNIL (cnil.fr).

10. Security

We limit access to personal data to what each task needs, encrypt connections to the Site, and rely on providers that protect the data they hold for us.

11. Children

multitap.gg is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 in the European Union. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to privacy@multitap.gg and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will show the date of the latest change at the top of this page, and we will email early access members about any material change.
